Hi, friends! Once upon a time back in 2009, I ran a blog (if you can really call it that…it was pretty bare bones and “basic” as the kids say) that chronicled my life overseas living in Southeast Asia. I didn’t know much about how to be a true blogger, but I knew how to write and share stories that resonated with people by connecting them to things and spaces that move me–family, food, travel, wellness, and style. My family and friends loved it and encouraged me to continue on. Because of the twists and turns of life along the way, I’ve had this on pause for longer that I’d like to admit. This resurgence is something I have been working on for quite a while now behind the scenes, and I am so glad to finally share this project of love with the rest of the world.
Writing has played many roles in my life from a creative outlet and professional pursuit to a means of therapy and healing. Writing in a way that helps give a glimpse of the things in life that make me happy is also a way for me to connect with and hopefully inspire women and girls to do what I prioritize, which is taking care of myself.
What brought me to this point in time has been the most unique and enriching journey imaginable that began in Southern Louisiana and has taken me all over the world. I am someone who wears many hats, including daughter, sister, friend, communicator, dancer, public servant, trailblazer, business owner, humanitarian, advisor, traveler, student, peacemaker, and lover of life. Part of my impetus for starting this blog in a new chapter of my life was to be able to share the splendors that have enabled me to live my best life even during times when life was lifing a little too much!
Whatever place you are at along your life journey, I hope my platform offers you a source of happiness, confidence, fun, or even food for thought. Having dedicated a significant part of my life serving my country, I have come to learn that you must never forget to pour into your own cup and that a little laughter with a sprinkle of style every single day goes a long way. Thank you so much for being here!
