Finding the calm and meaning among the storms has been a part of the journey I have learned to appreciate. And if I am honest, I still have room to do better with that. Part of adulting for me has been a blend of reestablishing boundaries, reinforcing my values, and just being okay with the unknown.

From the original Wonder Woman extraordinaire, Lynda Carter, to global music phenomenon and businesswoman, Beyonce Giselle Knowles Carter, women like this continue to blaze the trail for me and so many others by showing us what defying the odds looks like.

This year’s Women’s History Month certainly did not disappoint.

The lifestyle shifts that COVID-19 presented the world with the grave need to place taking good care of yourself at the top of your priority list and at the same time the ending of what I like to call “haughty hustle” culture. What I mean by this is the show-offy, “never-not-working” types who seek public praise for seemingly working all the time.

Once upon a time back in 2009, I ran a blog (if you can really call it that…it was pretty bare bones and “basic” as the kids say) that chronicled my life overseas living in Southeast Asia. I didn’t know much about how to be a true blogger, but I knew how to write and share stories that resonated with people by connecting them to things and spaces that move me–family, food, travel, wellness, and style.
